A person has been arrested after reportedly throwing a flammable object into a house in Boston, causing a small fire, police said.
Boston police responded to 27 West Main Street in Mattapan at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a fire, said Boston Police Department spokesperson David Estrada.
The flammable object caused a small fire, but no injuries were reported. The arson squad was called to the scene.
At the time of the incident, the suspect was described as a man wearing a surgical mask and black hoodie and carrying a red pole, according to Estrada. The identity of the person arrested has not been released.
Estrada said the incident was “not a random act.”
No further information was available.
