Police looking for man suspected of fatally shooting his brother in Brockton

Two other men have been arrested and charged with accessory to the murder, officials said.

Two men have been arrested and police are searching for a third suspect in connection with a Brockton shooting that left one person dead, officials said Monday.

Sirick Amado, 24, and Antonio Dejesus, 26, were arrested and charged with accessory to homicide in connection to the shooting death of 27-year-old Sedrick Abreu, Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz said in a statement. Jeremiah Abreu, the brother of the victim, has a warrant out for his arrest and is suspected of being the shooter, Cruz said.

At about 2:17 a.m. Sunday, Brockton police responded to a call reporting a shooting inside a house at 36 Hoover Ave., according to the D.A.’s office. There, they located Sederick Abreu, who was shot in the chest.

Sederick Abreu was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital and later pronounced dead, officials said.

Officials with the Brockton Police Department and State Police executed a search warrant at the home on Sunday. They found “several items of evidentiary value” and arrested Amado and Dejesus, officials said.

Amado and Dejesus were arraigned in Brockton District Court Monday.

The investigation remains ongoing, Cruz said.
