Police arrested a 15-year-old suspect in connection with three armed robberies in Mattapan, according to a statement from the Boston Police Department.
According to officials, police officers in an unmarked cruiser were canvassing the Harvard Street area for any video footage that could be used in their investigation of three previous armed robberies.
After spotting someone who matched the description of their suspect, police followed him to a convenience store, according to the statement. Police said they stopped the suspect inside the store and placed him in handcuffs.
Investigators found a replica firearm and clothes matching the description of the suspect, according to officials.
Police arrested the suspect, a 15-year-old boy. He faces armed robbery and other charges, according to police.
Police said the three armed robberies spanned March 26 to March 28.
On March 26 at around 8:46 p.m., the suspect allegedly stole all the money from a cash register as well as several marijuana products from a store on Blue Hill Avenue, according to officials.
On March 27 at around 6:54 p.m., the suspect allegedly stole money from two cash registers as well as marijuana products from another store on Blue Hill Avenue, according to police.
On March 28 at around 5:49 p.m., police received a report of someone robbing a store at gunpoint on Harvard Street. That person stole hundreds of dollars before fleeing the scene, according to the statement.
