NBC10 Boston reports the incident began when sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on South Strong Road just before 5 p.m. for a report that a child had been sexually assaulted. Burdin was identified as the alleged suspect, but he fled the scene before officers arrived.
According to the station, Burdin was spotted an hour later by law enforcement, leading deputies in a chase into Farmington where he drove over spike strips set out by police.
