Fourth person arrested in murder of Fall River high school student

Eighteen-year-old Colus Jamal Mills-Good died after being shot on the morning of March 14.

Massachusetts State Police on Thursday arrested a fourth person in connection to the fatal shooting of a Fall River high school student who was walking to school.

Amannie Chiclana, 19, of Fall River, was arrested in Stoughton and arraigned Friday in Fall River District Court on charges of murder and carrying an illegal firearm, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn’s office.

Investigators said Colus Jamal Mills-Good, 18, was shot at point-blank range around 11:40 a.m. on March 14. The suspects opened fire from a vehicle on the corner of Rock and Franklin streets in front of the Abbey Grill. Quinn’s office previously described the suspects as four men in a black Acura sedan.

Fall River police responded to reports of shots fired and found Mills-Good suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where he was later pronounced dead.

Jadyn Ortiz, 19, Xzavien Figueroa-Valcarel, 19, and Giovanni Nunes, 18, all of Fall River, have already been charged with accessory to murder after the fact. All three men are being held on $250,000 cash bail.

Known by family and friends as “CJ,” Mills-Good was a student at Resiliency Preparatory Academy. Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan told local media that the school had grief counselors on hand for students.

Quinn’s office said the investigation “is extremely active,” though no further details were released.
