Police are investigating after a child said someone tried to abduct them in Lexington on Thursday, officials said.
Lexington police responded to a house on Wood Star Street at about 2 p.m. Thursday, the department said in a statement.
“An elementary school-age child reported that they were playing in their backyard when they were grabbed from behind and had a hand placed over their mouth,” police said.
The child was able to break away from the person who also ran away from the scene.
The perpetrator is described as a man dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask.
Lexington police said they are “thoroughly” investigating the incident and sharing details with local detective groups.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lexington Police Department.
