Police seeking suspect in unprovoked pepper spray attacks on Green Line

The suspect allegedly pepper sprayed several people on board a Green Line trolley Saturday.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect who allegedly pepper sprayed several passengers on a Green Line trolley Saturday.

The incident happened around 2:25 p.m. at the MBTA’s Lechmere station, according to MBTA Transit Police. The agency shared a photo of the suspect and said it is investigating the matter as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Transit police asked anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact the Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050; anonymous tips are allowed.

The latest spraying incident comes just a couple weeks after someone sprayed Lysol into the eyes and face of a Green Line shuttle bus driver on Feb. 21 near Commonwealth Avenue and Babcock Street.
