Four arrested for vandalism after posing as T-Mobile workers at West Boylston cell tower

The suspects' vehicles matched descriptions of those at similar incidents in the New England area, police said.

Four people are charged with vandalism after police found them at a West Boylston cell tower possibly attempting to steal a cable to then sell it as scrap. 

On Friday, West Boylston police received an alarm at the West Boylston Cell Tower on Lawrence Street. On scene, they found two vehicles with New York registrations and four workers with “hard hats and work gear,” police said in a statement Sunday.

“One worker was in the process of climbing up the tower,” police said. “They advised that they were subcontractors for T-Mobile with orders to decommission 3G coax cable. They had no work orders or paperwork to back their claims.”

Verizon representatives told police that the work had not been allowed and that “this has been an ongoing problem” at various cell towers in the area. Police said the vehicles present at the West Boylston incident matched the description of vehicles present at similar thefts in New England. Officials believe cables were stolen to be sold as scrap, they said.

Officers also found the door of the cell tower to have been pried open and cut cables inside the office and outside the tower, according to the statement. 

Tjpaul Moses, 32, Yuvraj Moses, 31, Huckomchan Rmjiawan, 26, and Kevon Alvin Roberts, 24, are charged with breaking and entering, larceny, vandalizing, possessing burglarious instruments, and trespassing, police said. All four individuals are from New York.

The four were held without bail over the weekend at the Worcester County House of Correction and were scheduled for arraignment on Monday at Clinton District Court. 

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
