A man died on Thursday from injuries sustained in a shooting in Fall River almost a week prior, officials said.
Joshua Medeiros, 34, was shot near the intersection of Nashua Street and Blackstone Street on Feb. 9, officials said.
Officers responded to gunshots at about 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 9, police told WJAR. Medeiros was hospitalized in critical condition, the news station reported.
Mederios died at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford on Feb. 15, police said.
The incident is now classified and being investigated as a homicide, the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
The investigation is being conducted by the Homicide Unit prosecutor and Massachusetts State Police detectives.
