Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a dark-colored sedan that may have been involved in a fatal shooting on I-95 late Saturday night.
Justin R. Parker, 37, was killed Saturday night when the driver of a sedan allegedly fired multiple rounds into a black Mercedes shortly before 10 p.m., killing Parker.
The sedan, which officials said is dark-colored or possibly black, was traveling south on I-95 South through Foxborough. Police said there may have been “one or more” dark-colored sedans driving fast or “erratically” in the area of Exit 17.
The Mercedes then swerved into a Lexus SUV occupied by a family, causing it to crash into the woods off the highway. The Mercedes swerved again before hitting the guard rail and coming to a stop, the Norfolk County District Attorney said in a statement Sunday.
Parker, who lived in North Attleborough, was brought to Sturdy Memorial Hospital after the incident but did not survive his injuries, police said.
Occupants of the Lexus did not sustain life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen any part of this incident, or who may have seen one or more dark-colored sedans operating erratically or at a high rate of speed on Rte. 95 before or after the area of Exit 17 to call 781-327-9801 and speak with State Police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office,” said Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey in a statement. “Anyone with information or suspicion as to possible involved vehicles or parties should contact investigators as soon as possible.”
