Four men charged in connection with Boston Caribbean festival shooting last August

Two of the men were arrested shortly after the shooting, police said.

Four men were charged last Friday in connection with a shooting last August on the outskirts of a Boston Caribbean festival parade that injured eight people, officials said. 

Hubman Hunter, 31, Gerald Vick, 30, Sebastian Monteiro, 21, and  Dwayne Francis, 30 were all charged with multiple counts relating to the Aug. 26 shooting, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.

Officers arrested Vick and Francis shortly after the shooting when they were found carrying pistols with illegal enhancements, police said last year. 

Six men and two women suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting, which was unrelated to the festival, according to officials.

Hunter and Vick were charged Jan. 26 with eight counts of assault and battery with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Monteiro was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony. Francis was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.

Hunter is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 2. Vick was arraigned on Jan. 29 and is being held on $6,000 bail with GPS and home confinement with a bail hearing scheduled for Feb. 2. Monteiro is being held without bail and will be arraigned Feb. 5. Francis will be arraigned Feb. 27 and is currently held on $5,000 bail with a curfew, police said.
