A man allegedly tried to cut a bike lock in the T police parking lot. He was arrested and booked just 20 yards away.

Transit police couldn't help but judge the suspect's poor choice of location.

MBTA Transit police are shaking their heads after a man allegedly tried to steal a bike from the parking lot of police headquarters on Monday.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man around 10 a.m. after they say they caught him attempting to cut a lock off a bike that was affixed to a pole in the lot, the agency tweeted.

Police said they also found an additional pair of bolt cutters in his possession.

The suspect “was transported 20 yards for booking,” the agency added with a gif of a dog shaking its head.
