1 arrested after teen shot in the foot at Chelsea park

The teen was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chelsea police arrested a suspect Wednesday after a 16-year-old was shot in the foot at a park.

Police responded to a call reporting gunshots on Bellingham Hill Wednesday evening, they said in a tweet. They then took one person into custody, while a victim was taken to a hospital.

Chelsea Police Chief Keith Houghton told WCVB that a 16-year-old had been shot in the foot at Bosson Park around 5 p.m.

First responders took the teen to Massachusetts General Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the news station reported.

Houghton said police searched for two male suspects in connection with the shooting, and that there was a foot chase involved with the arrest, WCVB reported.
