3 arrested after police fire at SUV in Chinatown

The vehicle allegedly struck two vehicles as police approached it.

Two Boston police officers fired their service weapons at an SUV in Chinatown following a report of a person with a gun in a vehicle on Tyler Street early Monday morning.

Police were initially called to 9 Tyler Street around 2:01 a.m. for a report of a person with a gun inside a gray SUV, authorities said.

There, officers attempted to approach the SUV, which subsequently struck a pair of parked vehicles. Two officers then shot at the vehicle, according to police.

Three people were arrested, and a firearm was recovered from the SUV, police said.

Alexander Delarosa, 23, of Jamaica Plain, Devrae Burns, 22, of Dorchester, and Ahfan Arty, 22, of Quincy, are all being charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to officials.

The incident remains under investigation. Police are asking the public to come forward if they know anything.
