Update: The female juvenile killed in the shooting has been identified as 16-year-old Jucelena Gomes. Gomes’s murder is the city’s first homicide of the year, according to Suffolk District Attorney Rachael Rollins. She said one of the two injured is also a teenager.
A juvenile girl is dead, and two men injured, following an apparent shooting in Dorchester Sunday evening.
This shooting came just 15 minutes after one on Normandy Street, where one person was said to have non-life-threatening injuries, according to WCVB.
Boston police were sent to 551 Washington St. around 6:25 p.m. for a report of someone shot.
There, they found two men with non-life-threatening injuries. They were sent to nearby hospitals. A female juvenile was also taken to a nearby hospital with apparent gunshot wounds; she was later pronounced dead.
Police are asking for the public’s help with information regarding the incident in which the girl was killed. Anyone who may know something is asked to call the department’s homicide unit at (617) 343-4470.
People can also use the department’s anonymous tip line by calling 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
