A Somerville man is being charged with murder in connection with a stabbing that happened there Thursday night.
Around 10:38 p.m., police responded to Munroe Street after multiple 911 calls reporting a stabbing, a press release from the Middlesex District Attorney said.
There, authorities found 33-year-old Jalel Brown-Cross of Boston with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.
Meanwhile, Shakeel Bodden, 28, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the stabbing. Authorities believe Bodden attacked the victim with a knife inside the home, officials said.
Bodden was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries he sustained during the incident.
He was arraigned Friday in Somerville District Court. Judge Robert Murphy ordered Bodden to be held without bail and undergo a competency evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
