MBTA Transit Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly stole a saxophone from a Boston Public Schools student at Fields Corner station in Dorchester late last month.
According to police, at about 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 29, the 16-year-old student put the saxophone on a bench on the outbound platform.
“The student turned away briefly and at that time an unknown adult male absconded with the saxophone exiting the station,” police said.
The saxophone was BPS issued and has a value of over $3,000, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050 or text an anonymous tip to 873873.
