FRAMINGHAM — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning on Hayes Street in Framingham, according to a statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Framingham Chief of Police Lester Baker.
At approximately 1:19 a.m., police received a 911 call reporting that a man had been shot inside a Hayes Street residence, according to the statement.
Upon arrival, police said they found an adult male dead with an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities identified the victim Saturday evening as Eric Hargrett, 34, of Framingham.
Based on the preliminary information, investigators do not believe this was a random attack, according to the statement.
This is an ongoing investigation and no arrests have been made at this time, according to the statement.
