A Malden man allegedly fell asleep on the Orange Line with a gun sticking out of his waistband, transit police say.
Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, police went to the Forest Hills MBTA station after receiving the report. They got on the train and found 37-year-old Kamil Mogielnicki sleeping on his left side, according to transit police in a press release.
“Officers observed what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun protruding from Mogielnicki’s waistband,” authorities said. “Officers quickly removed and secured the firearm from Mogielnicki and woke him up. The firearm, a 9mm Ruger, contained a fully loaded magazine.”
It turns out Mogielnicki isn’t licensed to carry, according to police.
The suspect was arrested, and while transit police were going through the booking process, they reported also finding that Mogielnicki had what appeared to be narcotics “packaged in way consistent for resale,” police said.
Mogielnicki is facing different drug- and gun-related charges, according to transit police.
