Police seeking information from public in fatal Mattapan shooting

A man was found shot early Sunday morning on Woodbole Avenue; he later died from his injuries.

Boston police are asking for the public to come forward with information about a deadly shooting in Mattapan early Sunday.

Around 12:34 a.m., police responded to 12 Woodbole Ave. for a report of a man who had been shot. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and later died of his injuries, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470. People can also use the department’s anonymous tip line by calling 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
