A Maynard house party turned violent early on Saturday morning when three teenagers were shot and suffered what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
Maynard police responded to a report of a shooting at 2 Cindy Lane around 2:23 a.m., according to a statement released by the department.
At the home, officers found three teenagers, who were not identified and whose ages were not released, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. The suspect or suspects responsible were no longer at the scene, officials said.
“Officers provided immediate aid to the victims, who suffered injuries that are serious but not believed to be life-threatening at this time,” police said. “All three were subsequently transported to area hospitals.”
Authorities said a preliminary investigation determined the shooting happened during the party, where more guests than were initially expected showed up. Investigators on Saturday could not say for certain how many people were at the home.
“Maynard Police are actively investigating this incident with support from the Massachusetts State Police, as well as Acton, Concord and Sudbury Police,” officials said. “The investigation is currently in its earliest phases and no suspects have been identified at this time, though Maynard Police believe the incident is isolated to the party.”
A media representative for the department on Monday morning said the shooting remained under investigation. No additional information was available.
