The 29-year-old Boston man charged in connection with the shots fired in the Back Bay Wednesday night is being held without bail.
Brandon Sicard was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Friday on charges of assault by means of a dangerous weapon (firearm), unlawful possession of a firearm, and firearm discharged within 500 feet of a dwelling.
During his arraignment, authorities didn’t give a potential motive behind the incident, according to WBZ. Sicard will return to court on Wednesday for a hearing.
It was around 7:45 p.m. that shots were fired on Fairfield Street between Newbury and Boylston streets.
“At first I thought it was a car backfiring, but I looked outside the window and saw a gentleman in a white tracksuit literally shooting shots down the street,” Jon Boelman told WBZ.
As the gunfire erupted, chaos ensued as people ran to take cover.
“Because the crowds were running and there were so many people, I saw a girl get trampled and she ran into a store to get help,” Jordan Ring said, according to WBZ.
No one was reportedly injured, but some cars and businesses sustained damage.
