Boston police are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in an attempted kidnapping.
Around 5:20 a.m. on Thursday, an adult female was approached from behind by an unknown male near 830 Washington St. near Tufts Medical Center in Boston, police said. The male put his hands on her face and attempted to drag her towards a nearby alleyway. The victim screamed for help, and was able to break free. The assailant fled the area on foot.
“A member of our community was walking into the Medical Center when an individual ran from behind and physically assaulted her,” a bulletin sent to Tufts Medical Center employees said, according to WCVB.
Police said the victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.
“The investigation is ongoing and we are partnering closely with our colleagues at the Boston Police Department and Tufts University Police,” the statement to Tufts employees said.
Detectives are investigating the incident, and anyone with information is urged to call 617-343-4248.
