A New Bedford woman was arrested and then released three times in ten days for assaulting an officer, and drug possession and distribution, according to police.
New Bedford Police shared the saga Thursday on Facebook.
On July 2, officers arrested Sabria Chytrus, 29, for breaking into a parked car, but during the arrest, Chytrus attempted to stab an officer with an illegal pocket knife. Police said she was subdued and disarmed. There was already an active warrant out for her arrest, and she was booked, taken to court, and released on personal recognizance the same morning.
Just four hours later, Chytrus was seen engaged in a suspected drug transaction, police said. She was stopped and found to be in possession of cocaine and heroin, so she was arrested. Again, she was released on personal recognizance after her arraignment a few days later on July 5.
Four days later, detectives saw Chytrus in another suspected drug transaction. She was arrested this time for distribution of “crack” cocaine and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance law. Following the weekend, she was arraigned on July 12 and again released from custody on a conditioned release.
