Police arrested a 76-year-old man in Rochester, New Hampshire on Wednesday for possession of child sex abuse images and simple assault.
Paul Patsalis, 76, of Rochester, was taken into custody after police followed an anonymous tip, according to 7 News Boston. Rochester Police requested the public’s help via a Facebook post on Wednesday morning.
According to police, Patsalis was already the subject of an active investigation into child sex abuse image possession when he was reportedly seen at Rochester Commons on July 12 talking to a 5-year-old girl, holding her stuffed animal, and rubbing or touching her back. When the child’s mother confronted him and called 911, Patsalis fled the area in a black Volkswagen, police said.
He was taken into custody on Wednesday evening without incident, according to police.
