The Worcester County District Attorney’s office released the identities of the man and woman who died Tuesday in an apparent murder-suicide. The man, Jesse A. Brooks, 38, and the woman, Jamie A. Dickinson, 34, both lived in the Old Webster Road home where they were found.
On June 22, Brooks and Dickinson died from gunshot wounds in what District Attorney Joseph D. Early called an apparent murder-suicide. Three children survived the incident: a 13-year-old rescued his 4-year-old sibling by escaping through a window and a 3-year-old was later rescued by police.
“This is a tragic case of domestic violence,” Early said at the scene. “It appears to be a murder suicide.”
Police responded to the home after receiving a 911 call around 5:20 p.m. and found the woman dead in the kitchen and the man dead behind the house, police told NBC10 Boston. Brooks and Dickinson were dating, not married, Early told NBC10 Boston, and both were licensed to have a firearm. A gun was found at the scene.
Brooks’s and Dickinson’s deaths are being investigated by state police assigned to Early’s office, the state police Crime Scene Services Section, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
