Authorities investigating fatal police shooting in New Hampshire

No officers or other civilians were harmed.

New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella is investigating a fatal police shooting that happened in Pittsfield on Monday, June 14, leaving a 25-year-old man dead.

On June 15, Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Nathan Noyes shared that during the incident, gunfire was exchanged between the victim, Anthony Hannon, and six officers with the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit.

An autopsy on Hannon conducted by Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg on Tuesday determined the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the manner of his death is homicide.

In the release, officials said that as used by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, homicide is defined as the killing of one person by another.

Officials are not releasing further information until formal interviews are conducted with the six officers involved, per protocol.
