A Malden man was arrested by MBTA transit police after he allegedly broke train windows at Haymarket Station on Wednesday night.
Authorities were called to the area regarding a disturbance around 7:30 p.m., police said in a press release.
“Upon arrival witnesses informed the officers a male, later identified as Michael Juskowiak, 46, of Malden ‘was going nuts’ inside the train car by smashing the train windows and releasing a fire extinguisher contents in all directions,” according to police.
Officers found Juskowiak allegedly standing between the doors of an Orange Line train, which made it so the train couldn’t leave. There was “a white powdery haze in the air,” and “several” broken train windows, police said.
“Juskowiak fled down the right of way and service had to be suspended while the officers had to search for Juskowiak in the tunnel,” police said in the release. “Officers located Juskowiak inside the tunnel and placed him into custody.”
