2 women dead after stabbing in Dorchester home
The incident happened inside a home on Taft Street.
Two women are dead after they were stabbed in a Dorchester home Sunday afternoon, Boston police say.
Officers responded to a call at the Taft Street home near Upham’s Corner about half an hour past noon. They found two women suffering from stab wounds inside. One was pronounced dead on the scene while the other was pronounced dead after she was brought to a hospital.
Two children were also in the home. Police say they were uninjured but brought to a hospital for an evaluation. Officers told reporters on scene that a dog was injured and brought to MSPCA-Angell.
The Boston Police Department arrested 34-year-old Marcus Chavis of Dorchester on two charges of murder and a charge of animal cruelty. He will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The department is continuing to investigate the stabbing and has not yet shared the identities of the victims.
This is a developing story.
