Acton man charged in connection with allegedly sexually assaulting 2 children

An Acton man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted two children that he knew.Daniel Napier, 58, is being charged with aggravated rape of a child, enticing a child under 16, and eight counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.Napier was arraigned in Concord District Court on Wednesday. His bail was set at $10,000. If released, he was ordered to stay away from the victims and their families, to be under lockdown at all times, to be monitored by a GPS, and to have no unsupervised contact and not work or volunteer with children under the age of 16, authorities said. He is scheduled to return to court on March 1.The victims reportedly told a family member about what allegedly happened, and a report was made with Acton police in November 2019. The victims told the family member that Napier allegedly “touched them inappropriately on several occasions” while at his home in Acton.When confronted, Napier allegedly took off for New Hampshire but then returned to his home in Acton. He was arrested on Tuesday at his home.
