Police were called to Summer Street at Pappas Way around 4:22 p.m. Wednesday.
State police are investigating an armed carjacking from Wednesday afternoon during which one of two suspects allegedly pushed a handgun against a Lyft driver in Boston’s Seaport.Authorities say they were called to Summer Street at Pappas Way in the Seaport District in South Boston around 4:22 p.m. where troopers spoke with the Lyft driver, a 44-year-old man from Weymouth. The driver told police that he picked up the suspects in Dorchester in the gray 2018 Nissan Altima he was driving, and that they asked to be brought to the W.B. Mason store on Summer Street. When they reached the store, the suspects allegedly confronted the driver to try to take the vehicle, according to state police.“The driver resisted, but while he was engaged with one of the suspects, the other got in the Altima and drove away,” police said. “The investigation indicates that the other suspect was able to get into the car a few moments later and they sped away. One of the suspects is believed to have pressed a handgun against the victim during the confrontation.”Both suspects are thought to be young adult men, one Hispanic and one Black. One had a heavier build and was wearing a gray hoodie and gray sweatpants with white sneakers. The other one was thin and was wearing a “cream colored” tracksuit and white sneakers, police said.Police have not yet found the vehicle. Anyone who may have seen the suspects, or has information about them, is asked to call state police at 617-568-7300.
