Boston man accused of trying to rob 2 juveniles while wearing ‘homemade ballistic vest’
Police were called to the Quincy Center MBTA station around 7:11 p.m. on Friday.
A Boston man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to rob a pair of juveniles while wearing a “homemade ballistic vest” and wielding a “large hunting knife.”Vernard Shepard, 31, is being charged with attempted armed robbery, and possession of a dangerous weapon, according to MBTA Transit Police.Police were called to the Quincy Center MBTA station around 7:11 p.m. on Friday. Via investigation, they found that Shepard allegedly tried to rob the two females, who are minors. When they didn’t give him anything, Shepard allegedly took out the knife and “held it in a threatening manner,” police said.The two victims then took off, and were able to get help, according to authorities.
