Man charged with breaking into Charlie Baker’s home

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (AP) — A man has been charged with breaking into Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker’s home, authorities said.
Lane Forman was arraigned last week on a charge of breaking and entering in the daytime, said Carrie Kimball, a spokesperson for the office of Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.
Kimball said she could not provide details about the allegations against Forman. The Republican governor lives in Swampscott, north of Boston.
A spokesperson for Baker deferred comment to Massachusetts State Police.
State police spokesperson David Procopio said in an email that for security reasons the agency “does not release details about executive protection operations.”
There was no phone number publicly listed for Forman and it was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney to comment on his behalf.
Forman’s bail was set at $5,000, Kimball said. He was also ordered to stay away from the governor and his family and undergo a competency evaluation, she said.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 4.
