16-year-old shot, injured in Swampscott Sunday night

Police responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m.

Swamspcott police are investigating after a 16-year-old was shot in the hand in the area near Burrill Street and Maple Avenue Sunday night.Police were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. after “multiple” gunshots were heard in the area. There, they found the victim, who was brought to Massachusetts General Hospital, police said in a press release. He was said to be in “good” condition.Police believe the incident was “isolated,” the release said. State police are helping Swampscott police with the investigation.
