2 teens, 16 and 17, shot to death, 18-year-old critical in ‘violent day’ in Boston

Two teens were reportedly shot to death Sunday in Mattapan, another teen was shot in Roxbury hours later.

Two teens were killed in a daylight shooting in Mattapan Sunday, and just hours later, another teen was shot in Roxbury and is in critical condition, according to police.

Police were called to the scene of the first incident at 46 Wildwood St. around 4:42 p.m. for a report of a person shot. There, they found the two juveniles, ages 16 and 17, suffering from what looked like gunshot wounds. Both were taken to nearby hospitals where they later died, Boston police said in a news release.

Later Sunday night, Boston police responded to 77 Maple St. around 11:18 p.m. The victim, 18, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition, according to police.

“Sunday was a violent day in Boston,” Superintendent-in-Chief Gregory Long said during a press conference soon after the second incident, according to The Boston Globe. “Now we have another senseless act of violence.”
