15-year-old from Framingham charged in connection with Boston police cruiser fire

A 15-year-old boy from Framingham was arrested Thursday evening and charged in connection with the arson of a Boston police cruiser in the violence that followed peaceful protests on Sunday, May 31, authorities say.

Boston police said investigators from the department, Boston fire, and Framingham police arrested the teen around 5:10 p.m. on a warrant out of Boston Juvenile Court. The teen, whose name has not been released by authorities, is charged with arson of a motor vehicle and inciting a riot.
On Tuesday, the FBI and Boston police asked for the public’s help in identifying two male individuals seen on surveillance footage between 9:30 and 10 p.m on May 31 near the cruiser, parked near the Beantown Pub at the intersection of Tremont and Bromfield streets, that was first vandalized then set on fire.
