A Weymouth man is facing charges after he allegedly pulled a gun on another man who refused to let him borrow his lighter near Maverick Square station Friday morning.

Elijah Messier, 20, is being charged with possession of a firearm without a license, armed assault, and possession with intent to distribute a class A substance – transit police say they found Messier had what appeared to be heroin on him during the booking process.

Around 9 a.m., a man spoke with transit police, telling them that a man, later identified as Messier, asked him to borrow his lighter. When he declined, Messier allegedly “became angry,” pulled out a gun, and pointed it at the victim.
