Police seek public’s help after 2 shot – one fatally – near Hyde Park playground
“The scourge of gun violence has claimed too many lives in Suffolk County."
A 26-year-old man was killed and a woman injured in a shooting near Martini Playground on Truman Parkway Tuesday night, authorities said. The two victims were reportedly found in Hyde Park around 9:40 p.m. suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins said in a statement that her office will be investigating the fatal shooting alongside state and Boston police.

“A man and a woman were shot; ultimately, the man’s injuries proved fatal. At this time the woman is expected to survive,” Rollins said.
The man has been identified as Israel Mayhew, 26, of Dorchester.
“The scourge of gun violence has claimed too many lives in Suffolk County,” she said. “My office is working diligently with our law enforcement and community partners to bring answers and accountability to the victims, their families, and our community.”
