Nurses’ cars broken into, items stolen, while they were working at Boston Children’s Hospital
“I was just pretty sad and disappointed."
Two nurses had their cars broken into, and items stolen, over the weekend while they were working at Boston Children’s Hospital.Boston police said in both of the incidents, car windows were smashed and items were taken from the vehicles. The cars were parked within the hospital garage at the time, according to Sgt. John Boyle, a spokesman for the department.One of the nurses, Renée Cather, told The Boston Globe that her car was in the Patient Family Parking Garage, and that her overnight bag was missing.“I was just pretty sad and disappointed,” she told the newspaper.Cather works as a per diem nurse for the hospital, and said the bag contained a change of clothes and some other personal items, including Airpods. A Vermont resident, Cather said she was staying with her mother in Southborough.The other nurse, she said, has worked at the hospital for almost three decades.“To me, it just felt really ugly,” Cather told WCVB. “I just felt very sad that that’s the location in which this would happen.”
Police are continuing to investigate what happened, according to Boyle. He said the department has increased its patrols of the area, and anyone who may have seen anything is encouraged to contact the department.
