Separate shootings in Boston and Lynn kill 2, injure 2 others
The Boston shootings took place in Mattapan and Hyde Park.

The victim fatally shot in Lynn Monday evening has been identified as 34-year-old Christopher Gutierrez, of Lynn, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. The 22-year-old man, who was also shot during the same incident, is still in the hospital.

One person was fatally shot in Boston Monday night, while another who was shot early Tuesday morning is expected to survive his wounds, authorities said.

In a separate incident in Lynn Monday evening, two men were shot, and one of them died.
In Boston’s fatal shooting, authorities were called to the intersection of Delhi and Violet streets in Mattapan around 7:33 p.m., and found a man with what looked like multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
“I just want people to hear that we want the individuals that are engaged in this brazen violence – we will hold you accountable,” Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins said at a press conference. “We will remove you from the community, and you have my word on that.
“We’re disappointed, certainly, with the uptick in violence recently and we’re working as hard as we can with members of law enforcement to find the people that did this and hold them accountable,” she said.
The second shooting occurred near 14 Frazer St. in Hyde Park around 2:10 a.m., Boston police said. The injuries to that victim were initially thought to be life threatening, but now he’s expected to survive.

In the separate incident in Lynn, city police were called to the area near 4 Jones Terrace around 6 p.m. There, they found two men who appeared to have gunshot wounds.
A 34-year-old man was pronounced dead there. The second victim, a 22-year-old man, was taken to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He is expected to live, a news release from the Essex County District Attorney’s Office said.
