Gas station clerk hospitalized in Dedham shooting and attempted robbery
Police said the incident happened around 10:50 p.m. at the Ames St. Sunoco convenience store.
A gas station clerk in Dedham was taken to the hospital late Thursday night after being shot in the leg during an alleged robbery, Dedham police said in a press release.

The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. at Ames St. Sunoco convenience store, where police said two masked suspects entered the store and demanded money, reportedly holding the clerk at gunpoint.
“I guess he threatened if you came near me, I’ll push a bar for the alarm, for the police,” the Sunoco owner told WCVB’s Matt Reed, describing what happened between the clerk and the suspects. “So he shot him.”

After shooting the clerk’s right leg, police said the suspects reportedly fled the store.
Officers said the clerk was transported to a local hospital to treat his wounds, which are not considered life-threatening.
As the investigation is ongoing, Dedham police ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the alleged robbery or anyone who has any information to call them at 781-326-1212.
