The police then reportedly saw Gomes begin stabbing the victim, according to WBZ.“One officer physically tried to separate the knife-wielding suspect from further stabbing the victim,” Boston Police Commissioner William Gross said in a press conference, WBZ reported. “It was a very violent attack. As a matter of fact, the victim was stabbed in the neck and twice in the back and, again, that officer tried to physically intervene and remove that suspect from the victim. That was to no avail.”When Gomes allegedly attempted to stab one of the officers, the officer’s partner used their service weapon to shoot Gomes in the leg.Neither of the officers were injured, according to the Globe.
