‘I wanted revenge’: Lunenburg teen charged with assault to murder after allegedly shooting into home
Police said the 19-year-old was arrested last week on numerous weapons charges after shooting into the home because of a drug deal gone wrong.
A Lunenburg teenager was arraigned Monday on a new charge of armed assault to murder after being arrested last week on numerous weapons charges for shooting into the home of another teenage boy whom he blamed for a drug deal gone wrong, police said.The Sentinel & Enterprise reported that the Lunenburg police said the 19-year-old, Cauy V. Capoccia, told officers he had fired four shots into a home on Whalom Road at about 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 20 because he said the boy who lives there had stolen about a quarter pound of marijuana from him last July.“You know. I wanted revenge,” Capoccia allegedly said to police when asked why he attacked the home, according to the newspaper.Last week, Capoccia was charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, destruction of property over $1,200, carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, according to court documents obtained by the Enterprise.Once police reportedly determined Capoccia had targeted the boy who allegedly stole his marijuana, they charged him with armed assault to murder.The Sentinel & Enterprise reported Capoccia admitting he also fired on the house in November, shooting pellets from a CO2-powered air rifle at the home, which police said left 13 to 14 holes in the exterior.During Capoccia’s arraignment, court documents obtained by the Enterprise say he pleaded not guilty and that a dangerousness hearing was also held. While he was found to be dangerous, he was released under the circumstances that he wear a GPS tracking device, not possess dangerous weapons, have no drug or alcohol use, and post a $1,000 cash bail; Capoccia posted bail and was released.He will return to court on March 10 for a pretrial hearing including his new charge.
