Couple held without bail after allegedly using dating apps to attract, then rob two men

A couple is now being held without bail in New Bedford after being charged with using dating platforms to attract and steal from two men, SouthCoast Today reported.Kerstyn C. Gross, 22, from East Freetown and Luis J. Santos, 21, from New Bedford are being held after a pre-trial hearing in New Bedford District Court on Friday, according to court records obtained by SouthCoastAfter allegedly using plentyoffish.com and the MeetMe app to connect with two men they later robbed near 104 Tallman St. in New Bedford, Gross and Santos were each charged with two counts of armed robbery, intimidation of a witness and breaking and entering into a vehicle in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, SouthCoast reported.The suspects were arrested on Jan. 17 in two different Wareham locations, according to Wareham officers’ logs.The couple allegedly robbed a 25-year-old Brockton man with a large kitchen knife, taking $200 from his wallet, SouthCoast Today reported, before looking at his driver’s license and saying, “Now I know where you live, if you call the cops we will come after you.” The site reported that the pair also allegedly stole a black watch and an iPhone 10x Plus from the victim. Two days later, they reportedly robbed a 29-year-old Dorchester man at knifepoint, taking his medication, a black iPhone10, $160 in cash from his wallet, a driver’s license and his debit card, according to SouthCoast Today. The pair are awaiting further trial at New Bedford District Court.
