Men arrested for allegedly running fentanyl operation out of elderly housing complex

They've been accused of packing and selling drugs out of a complex run by the Methuen Housing Authority.

Two men were arrested Wednesday for allegedly running a fentanyl operation out of a housing complex for the elderly in Methuen.

Steven Perez, of Lowell, and Anthony Holloway, of Methuen, face federal charges of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, according to the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s office.

Officials investigated the men for several months, according to a release, and found Perez and Holloway ran a fentanyl distribution operation out of a housing complex for the elderly.

The complex where they were allegedly packaging and selling drugs was run by the Methuen Housing Authority, the release said.

The charges the two face carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of $1 million.
