A woman found shot to death in Hudson last week was allegedly killed by her boyfriend not long after the two found out she was pregnant.
Karla Rodriguez, 20, of Framingham, who was the mother of a 10-month-old son, had been dating Luis Santos, 23, of Hudson, for about three months, and told her mother before she died that the relationship began a downward spiral when they received the news, according to MassLive.
Santos allegedly threatened to kill Rodriguez on Thursday, she reportedly told her mother via text message just hours before she died. It was around 2 p.m. that day that authorities found her inside a vehicle near the Howe Street apartment where Santos lived, according to court records obtained by MassLive. She’d been shot in the head and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died.

Now, Santos is being charged with murder, armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing a serious injury, and carrying a firearm unlicensed. Santos pleaded not guilty in Marlborough District Court on Monday; he’s being held without bail until his next court date on Jan. 24, MassLive reported.
Surveillance video showed the Subaru pull into the driveway of Santos’s apartment complex. The video then shows a man, allegedly Santos, go to another vehicle and take an item out and then walk back to the car Rodriguez was in. Rodriguez attempted to drive away, and Santos walks up to the vehicle, according to MassLive.
“The male then is observed to point what appears to be a firearm and shoot into the windshield of the Subaru,” a police report obtained by the news website says.
Not long after the shooting, authorities say Santos called someone, told them he’d killed Rodriguez, and asked the person to help him arrange a flight to Puerto Rico, WCVB reported.
A warrant was obtained for Santos’s arrest on Friday, and he turned himself in that night, according to MassLive.
“We just want justice,” Isabel Famania-Banks, Rodriguez’s cousin, told reporters. “She was full of life, [a] beautiful soul.”
