Vermont woman arrested in connection with her husband’s shooting death
David Auclair, 45, of Williston, was shot on July 11 and found at a hiking trailhead parking lot.
BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A woman was arrested in connection with the July death of her husband in Hinesburg, Vermont State Police said.
David Auclair, 45, of Williston, was shot on July 11 and found at a hiking trailhead parking lot. Police on Tuesday arrested Angela Auclair, 47, of Bristol, on suspicion of aiding in the commission of first-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
She faced arraignment Wednesday in Burlington and has been jailed without bail. It wasn’t immediately known if she had a lawyer.
Police said their investigation revealed a “”pre-planned and coordinated effort” to burglarize a Colchester residence, where a firearm was stolen and used in the shooting of David Auclair. Police also said Angela Auclair “instructed at least one witness in the case to lie to the police.”
The 9 mm pistol was later found in a creek near the shooting. Angela Auclair’s son, 31-year-old Kory Lee George, was arrested Tuesday and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
