August Gammie, a friend of Baghdad’s, told WHDH that they had been watching the Boston Celtics game. Gammie said he left before Baghdad and that the victim and others were walking back home sometime later when the incident occurred. The suspects wanted a gold chain Baghdad was wearing.
“They wanted his chain, they asked for his chain,” Gammie told the news station. “I don’t know if he said no, or if he tried to give it to them and then they shot him.”
