A dog poop dispute led to one Spencer man allegedly beating his 76-year-old neighbor
“I’m 76, if I was 40 years old, I probably would’ve taken him on."
Dog poop was enough to make one Spencer man allegedly attack his 76-year-old neighbor, according to authorities.Angel Manuel Rivera, 20, of 39 Grove St., was charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 or a disabled person. He was arraigned in Worcester District Court on Wednesday and released on $200 bail. He was also ordered to stay away from the victim, according to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.Police went to the area around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving 911 calls, the Telegram and Gazette reported. During the calls, a dispatcher could hear an older man saying that he’d been struck, or “sucker punched.” On scene, an officer found James Fradsham sitting on the ground, blood streaming from his left ear.″(The kid) stated, ‘I told you not to walk your dog near my house,’” Fradsham reportedly told police, according to the newspaper. He was taken to a nearby hospital.Fradsham reportedly is legally blind, and “partially deaf,” according to NECN. He doesn’t leave the house much and when he does, it’s to take Tommy, his cockapoo, for a walk. The two had done just that a few days prior to the incident, and that’s when Tommy allegedly relieved himself on Rivera’s lawn, Rivera told police, according to the Telegram and Gazette. He confronted Fradsham about it on Tuesday, and that’s when the alleged assault occurred.Fradsham reportedly told police that if Tommy had relieved himself on Rivera’s lawn, he didn’t know due to his vision impairment, he told police, according to the Telegram and Gazette.“I’m 76, if I was 40 years old, I probably would’ve taken him on,” Fradsham told NBC10 Boston.
