Police are searching for a man who carjacked a pizza delivery driver late Monday in Dracut.
A masked man pointed a gun at the driver around 10 p.m. outside an 18th street apartment complex, according to police. He demanded that the man get out of the car and took his cash and food before stealing the 2003 Nissan Altima.
The 24-year-old driver wasn’t injured, and the car was found 30 minutes later about a mile away in Lowell. WCVB-5 reported the driver works for Family Pizza.
The Nissan was taken to a tow yard, and a police dog tracked the scent of the suspect to the intersection of Humphrey and Methuen streets before losing the trail.
The suspect was about 5-foot-9 or 6-feet tall and was wearing a dark hoodie and sweatpants at the time of the alleged crime.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Dracut police at 978-957-2123.
